A 3D-printed case insert for your airsoft pistol.
Licensed airsoft replicas are built to the real pistol’s size, so they fit real-steel case inserts. An Umarex VFC Glock 19 Gen 5 and its gas magazine went into our Pelican 1170 insert unchanged. The lid closed over both. Design yours in the browser, print it, and nothing slides around the case again.

Why replace the foam
Most hard cases ship with pick-and-pluck foam. It holds one pistol until the cubes tear, then it holds nothing. On r/airsoft, one player was blunt about it: “Pick and pluck foam is absolutely useless to me.” In the same thread, another describes cases where “as soon as you lift them you can hear everything fall to the bottom.” A gas blowback pistol has a finish worth keeping and a magazine heavy enough to rattle. A printed insert holds both in pockets cut to their outline (and it doesn’t crumble). For the wider comparison, see pick-and-pluck foam alternatives.
Real-steel profiles fit airsoft replicas
StashGrid’s gear library is measured from real pistols. There’s no separate airsoft library, and for a licensed replica you don’t need one: the Umarex VFC Glock 19 Gen 5 is licensed by Glock and built to the real pistol’s size.
We placed the G19 Gen5 Compact and G19 Mag profiles, exported the STL and printed it as is. No sanding, no trimming. The replica dropped into the pistol pocket, and the gas magazine into the magazine pocket.

If your replica isn’t a licensed 1:1 copy, check it against the real pistol’s published dimensions before you print. A few millimeters matters in a pocket cut this close.
The Pelican 1170 build
The Pelican 1170 is a small hard case, and a single pistol and magazine still leave it room to spare. The pistol runs along the hinge side, the magazine sits below the grip, and the right-hand end stays open. The same insert drops into the MEIJIA MJ1170, which shares the 1170’s interior (and sells for about $32 on Amazon).

We printed ours on a Bambu Lab H2C (nothing about this insert needs that printer). On a smaller build plate, cut the insert into pieces and join them. The printing guide covers materials, splitting and slicer settings.
Room for something that isn’t in the library
That open end now holds a slim 58 × 146 mm can, which you won’t find as a StashGrid profile. We exported the insert and had an AI coding agent cut a rounded cradle into the STL, then check it still printed.
A cylinder is about the easiest shape to add that way. The pistol and magazine, the parts that need an exact outline, came from the gear library. Read how the can cavity was made.
Design your own
- Open the designer and choose your case. Your design saves in the browser as you go.
- Place the real-steel profile that matches your replica, then its magazines.
- Check the spacing, then download the STL. Downloading needs a free account.
- Print it at 100 % scale, following the printing guide.
Questions
Will my airsoft pistol fit a StashGrid insert?
If it’s a licensed 1:1 replica of a pistol in the gear library, it fits the same pocket as the real one. That’s what licensed means here. We printed ours for the Umarex VFC Glock 19 Gen 5. For anything else, check it against the real pistol’s dimensions first.
Do airsoft gas magazines fit the magazine pockets?
The VFC Glock 19 gas magazine fits the G19 Mag pocket. Some gas magazines run wider than the real ones, so measure yours first.
Is there a separate airsoft gear library?
No. Profiles are measured from real pistols, and licensed 1:1 replicas are built to the same size.
Which cases can I design for?
The Pelican 1170 and MEIJIA MJ1170 take one pistol. The Apache 3800 takes two per layer, and the Glock factory case gets an insert that follows its own outline. See all the supported cases.
